Wireless Printing: iOS

Getting Started

First time printing from your iOS device?
To get started with printing wirelessly from your iOS device, you will need to complete a one-time download for each of the following:

1. Download the PaperCut App for iOS (cannot be downloaded from the App Store) (click for instructions...)
  1. You MUST be in Safari to complete this process; Tap here to download PaperCut for iOS.”
  2. On the next screen, tap 'Install' (tap for image...).
  3. Then, tap 'Install Now' (tap for image...).
  4. Next, tap 'Done' (tap for image...).
  5. Go to your home screen and tap on the installed app (tap for image...).
  6. Log in with your NPCUID and password. Note: only check 'remember me' if you own the device (tap for image...).
  7. PaperCut is now installed!
2. Download the PaperCut Release App for iOS (cannot be downloaded from the App Store) (click for instructions...)
  1. Click here to go to the PaperCut Release Login Page; then log in with your New Paltz username and password.
  2. When you are logged in, click on the 'Share' button and select 'Add to Home Screen' (click for image...).
  3. Click 'Add' to confirm (click for image...).
  4. Your PaperCut Release Shortcut will be added as an icon to your desktop (click for image...).
3. Download Chrome from the App Store (if it is not already installed) (click for instructions...)
  1. On your home screen, tap the App Store icon (tap for image...).
  2. Search for 'Chrome' and then tap 'install' to download (tap for image...).
  3. When the app is installed, tap 'open' or return to your home screen and tap on the new icon (tap for image...).

Printing Instructions

Note: Chrome is recommended for web printing

1. Find the 'share' or 'menu' icon in the document you want to print (tap for image...).
2. Tap the 'Print' link (tap for image...).
3. Tap 'AirPrint' (tap for image...).
4. Find and select the desired printer and then DESELECT the double-sided option; when this is complete, tap 'Print' (tap for image...).
5. You will see a message telling you your document is in a queue; click 'OK' (tap for image...).
6. You must now release your document in PaperCut; open the PaperCut Release App for iOS and skip to step 8 or tap here to open PaperCut and proceed to step 7.

7. Tap 'Continue' to verify the server identity (tap for image...).
8. Enter your NPCUID and password; then tap 'Log In' (tap for image...).
9. Select the printer to which you sent the job (make sure the printer address contains 'print.newpaltz.edu') (tap for image...).
10. Make sure the print job is selected; then, tap 'Release' (tap for image...).
11. Your job has been printed! (tap for image...).
