Printing
Each semester, students are given a 400 page print quota, to be used for academic purposes. We suggest that you use these pages wisely.

Here are a few tips…
- Do not print out whole books or sections of books.
- Do not print flyers or publicity materials.
- Use a “Print Preview” before printing to make sure your document will appear the way you desire.
- For larger documents, use a printer that can print double-sided, or duplex!
- Do not use your own paper.

So what if you use up your pages?
Hopefully, you have done your best to conserve paper and print only when necessary. If those demanding professors insisted that you printed out draft after draft, marking revisions in red pen… and now your final paper is due… and you keep getting an error when you try to print… because you have used up your print quota…
Breathe.
You can request additional pages when your balance goes below 100 pages.
Go to my.newpaltz.edu and select “My.Print Quota” from the Student Services tab.
You may request additional pages according to the following algorithm:
- First request – can be made when your print quota is below 100 pages, you will receive an additional 100 pages.
- Second request – can be made when your print quota is below 50 pages, you will receive an additional 50 pages.
- Third request – can be made when your print quota is below 25 pages, you will receive an additional 25 pages.
- Any request after your third request can only be made when your print quota is below 10 pages. You will receive an additional 10 pages for each request.
Note: Once you are down to your “tens” (ten page at-a-time requests), you can keep requesting additional pages. If you have a larger document to print out, tell the program to print pages 1-10, then request more on my.newpaltz.edu and go back and print pages 11-20.
If you are down to your “tens” and you need to make a special request to add a large number of pages to your print quota, please go to the Academic Computing office located in the Wooster Science Building. The office location is WSB-1F. There you can submit a request for additional pages and your printing history will be reviewed.
