Blackboard is the Course Management System used at SUNY New Paltz. Secure, password protected servers are dedicated to faculty who wish to put their course material online for students to access via the Internet. Not all faculty use Blackboard; therefore, some courses in which you are enrolled will be displayed but may not contain material. Blackboard provides online bulletin boards to post announcements about your organization’s events, help want ads, etc. Blackboard is customizable by the individual user. You pick some of your starting page content. Your NPCUID and password are used to authenticate you to Blackboard. If you do not know your NPCUID, log on to my.newpaltz.edu If you do not know your password, please contact smithl@newpaltz.edu or any staff member in the Academic Computing office, WSB1F.
When calling / emailing about your password, you must provide your first and last name as well as course and section number of a class you are taking. We do NOT want to know your social security number!
Blackboard requires the use of a java-enabled browser such as Internet Explorer 6.0 or newer; FireFox; Netscape 7.0 or newer. Safari or Internet Explorer should be used on a Macintosh. Other java-enabled browsers may work, but are not Blackboard tested for reliability. To access Blackboard’s Portal page, click on the Blackboard logo at the top of this page.
